1. Properties and uses of rectangular (P-shaped) sealing rings

Like the O-ring, the rectangular sealing ring is a fixed seal that can seal in both directions, and its performance application is better than that of the O-ring. The rectangular sealing ring is installed between the groove and the sealed surface with a certain amount of compression, and the resulting elastic force gives the sealed smooth surface and the groove bottom surface an initial compressive stress. When the pressure of the sealed liquid increases, the deformation of the rectangular ring also increases, so that the pressure transmitted to the sealing surface also increases, and the sealing effect also increases, ensuring that it has a good anti-squeeze effect on the sealing gap. This shows that it has the characteristics of high reliability, good sealing and long service life.
